Your note
The Hungarian cuisine has a lot in common with other Central European countries like Austria or the Czech Republic. In this guide you can check out some of the highlights.
Hungary offer up some very tasty traditional dishes. Without doubt, the most iconic is the goulash (beef, cooked with onion, pepper and many spices) but there’s another universally famous product, the salami. Among the most famous and well-received dishes is Letscho (peppers, tomatoes, fried or boiled potatoes and a side of meat). On the sweet side of things, one cannot miss the Dobos Cake, a cake covered with caramel and filled with five layers of chocolate.
Among the most romantic restaurants in Budapest, which serves Hungarian and European food, is the Belcanto, everything about it is a spectacle. The restaurant stands opposite the Opera and waiters are singing students who perform serenades while serving tables. The Kogart or the Mokka Cafe and Restaurant, with its modern interior, are other options. But one real joy that you should not miss out on is the Blue Rose, one of the most charming spots.
