The centre of Budapest, a World Heritage Site, is full of buildings that commemorate the city's past and of art galleries in which to enjoy defining works from different periods.

The tour of the historic Budapest has as its defining features the Buda Castle (the former imperial residence), with the Baroque district around it, and the Chain Bridge, a monument that symbolizes the union of Buda and Pest.
